This store is our first retail location, it was established in 1974,in South Bend, In. Bruce and Wendy Ridge acquired the business in 1976. The store has operated in its present location at Town and Country Shopping Center since 1998.

The Cities of South Bend and Mishawaka are joined to one another at a common city limit, and are at the center of a larger metropolitan area witha population of almost 250,000. South Bend lies 4 miles south of the Michigan border and 90 miles east of Chicago. The city's name comes from its location - it lies on both banks of the southernmost bend of the Saint Joseph River. Mishawaka, sometimes refered to as "The Princess City" was named after a Potawatomi Indian princess.

The University of Notre Dame was established here in 1842 by Father Edward J. Sorin and seven Roman Catholic brothers of the Congregation of the Holy Cross. The campus is famous for many landmarks which include, Rockne Stadium, the Golden Dome of the Administration building, one of the worlds largest college libraries, and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. St Mary's College and Holly Cross Junior College are both near the Notre Dame campus. South Bend is also the seat of Indiana University at South Bend, an extension of I.U. Bloomington.

The Century Center includes convention facilities, an art gallery, a performing arts center, and Discovery Hall museum. South Bend is also home to the National Collegiate Football Hall of Fame, and the Studebaker Automobile National Museum.

South Bend grew from the site of a Miami Indian village which was visited by the French explorers Marquette and Lasalle in the late 1600s. A Fur trading post was established by Pierre Navarre in 1820, and by 1830 the population of the village was 128. South Bend was incorporated as a town in 1835 and chartered as a city in 1865.

A large variety of factories contributes to the growth and prosperity of South Bend and Mishawaka. Among the major manufacturers are automotive and aviation components, electronic products, power transmission products, machine tools, rubber and plastic products and ethanol. Mishawaka is home to the plant which produces Humvees for the U.S. Military and America's allies around the world.

We are a Whites Metal Detector stocking dealer; there are also model rockets, kites and rubber-powered airplane kits for your outdoor enjoyment.

Our shelves are well stocked with a full selection of Plastic Model Kits, we have airplanes, cars, tanks, ships and special interest kits. We stock kits from Revell, Monogram, Tamiya, Italeri, Hasegawa, Polar Lights and many others. There is also a complete range of glues, paints and tools for all your hobby needs.

For the youngsters we carry Thomas the Tank Wooden Railway, as well as many other educational toys.
